Yoshii Yuta, Fujimaki Hajime, and Kikuhara Kisuke are middle-aged men, with different personalities and tastes, who were friends in middle school. Back in 1988, they were in a movie club and absorbed in making kung-fu movies. Now, at the age of 51, they feel like their lives are stuck in a dead end. One day, news breaks about human bones discovered at a construction site in Danbe.
Kisuke feels uncomfortable when he hears the news, because Danbe is the town where he spent his middle school days with Yuta and Hajime. He decides to contact the two, and they meet again for the first time in 37 years. As they reminisce about old times, they realize their memories of their beloved advisor have become hazy. Furthermore, a piece of paper is found with a group photo of the movie club. The paper has the word "missing" written on it. The three men begin to look into the mysterious disappearance of their advisor.
