The story begins when Riko, a temporary worker, is suddenly fired from her company. Pushed to the brink, Riko slips on the stairs on her way home and is saved by a handsome, unfamiliar office worker, Tsutomu.
At the lowest point of her despair, she meets Tsutomu, who is high-spec and has a laid-back demeanor. She is persuaded to go out to dinner and then to a hotel… This encounter shakes up Riko's life, and she is dragged into a quagmire of love and desire.
Meanwhile, Takuma, an unsuccessful band member whose live-in girlfriend supports him financially as a "himo" is living a carefree life, but he harbors a secret that he cannot reveal even to her.
