Former actor Mito Yusuke has spent years searching for the truth behind the mysterious death of his beloved wife, a teacher at the prestigious private boys’ school Mankai Academy. Believing her death is connected to an incident she had been investigating, Mito conceals his identity and infiltrates the school as a teacher.

There, he meets transfer student Toyama Takumi, who has also begun to sense that something is wrong within the academy. Together with members of the drama club, they become entangled in mysteries involving the school’s hidden past, its student council, and the chairman’s powerful family. Using their theatrical skills to uncover clues, they set out to expose the secrets buried within Mankai Academy and the forces determined to keep them hidden.

Toru returns to the campus of his Kyoto university after a long hiatus. He’s carrying an open umbrella on a sunny day with not a trace of self-consciousness. He meets his only friend, the goofy loquacious Yamane and in the evening goes to his part-time job cleaning a public bath. His co-worker, the bubbly Sacchan, is a fellow student as well as the talented lead singer and guitarist in an amateur band. But Toru’s attention is drawn to Sakurada Hana, a loner girl with her hair up in a bun who is in one of his lecture classes. He contrives to make her acquaintance and discovers that she more than matches him quirk for quirk – Toru believes he’s found his soulmate and after they part literally jumps for joy, but…
