As a child, Ando was diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) due to impulsivity and difficulty staying calm. Since then, he has lived his life hiding his traits and pretending to be “normal.” Even so, his occasional behaviors bewilder the members of the Maebashi District Court’s First Branch and cause disruption both inside and outside the courtroom.

One day, a series of complex cases involving tangled human relationships lands before Ando:
a young man who attacked the mayor;
a high school student who left his best friend in a coma;
and a daughter who claims, “My father was killed by the law.”

Before long, Ando’s “fixations,” stemming from his neurodivergent traits, bring to light contradictions in the cases that no one else had noticed. At the same time, he must confront his own impulses as he proceeds with the trials.

Will Ando be able to judge the cases fairly and uncover the truth?
